幼い頃、キラキラ光るガラスに魅了され、いつかその素材で自由にモノを作れたら…。とガラスの世界に踏み入りました。柔らかく温もりのあるカタチ、光をまとい透過するクリアな質感、そんなガラスの様々な表情を取込みながら、観る人、使う人の心に何かが灯るような作品を生み出してゆきたいと思います。

From a young age, I was captivated by the sparkling brilliance of glass and dreamed of one day creating freely with this material. This fascination led me into the world of glass. I aspire to craft works that incorporate the various expressions of glass: its soft, warm shapes, and its clear, light-transmitting quality. I hope to create pieces that ignite something in the hearts of those who view and use them.

ガラスは、いつも新しいことを教えています。炉の熱は、育った街の夏を思い出させます。熱いガラスは液体であり、完全に制御することはできないので、集中しつつも手放すことを教えてくれます。ガラス彫刻は光を反射し、他人の輝きを探すことを思い出させてくれます。発光や光を伝えるために「イリュミネス」という名前を選びました。私の明るく有機的な彫刻が、それを見る人々の笑顔を引き出すことを願っています。

Glass is always teaching me something new. The heat of the furnace reminds me of summertime where I grew up. Hot glass reminds me to focus and let go, as it is a liquid; it cannot be fully controlled. Cool glass reflects light and reminds me to look for the shine in others. This is why I chose the name “illuminesce” - to convey luminescence, or light. I hope my bright, organic sculptures spark a smile in those that see them.

日々の生活に少しの特別を… 大学でガラスという素材に出会い、言う事を聞かないこの素材に興味を持ちました。作業時の暑さとは真逆の出来上がりの美しさに魅了されながら日々格闘しています。 普段の生活の中に何気ない彩りを添えられる作品になれたら嬉しいです。

I first encountered the material of glass at university and became fascinated by its stubborn nature. Despite the intense heat during the crafting process, I am captivated by the beauty of the finished pieces and find myself constantly grappling with it. I would be delighted if my creations could add a subtle touch of color to everyday life.

Glass is fascinating. Molten glass moves and changes like a living creature. I never get tired of watching it. For me, creation is a collaboration with glass.
